IN 1893, 13 year old Cornish miner Robert Richards worked full time in the Moonta mines, attended night school, did chores at home and raced billy carts! Filmed in Moonta, S.A, can our kids of today Jack and Makayla finish all their jobs and still make it to the Moonta Goat Cart championships?

The Cornish history of the Moonta Mines was featured on the 15th of June on ABC ME TV in the first episode of ‘Are you tougher than your ancestors?

The Moonta Tourist Office is located in the Old Railway Station on Blanche Terrace Moonta. Visitors have access to information on local attractions including the Moonta Mines National Heritage area, accommodation, community services and local events. The Moonta Tourist office is open 7 days a week 9 am to 5 pm (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day)
