2 to 3 days in Moonta and Surrounds

Spend a day exploring the Moonta Mines Heritage Site. Follow one of the longer walking trails, ride the tourist train and have a picnic at the sight, or drive the Heritage Trail.

If it is summer, spend the afternoon at Splashtown- at Moonta Bay- which can be fun for the whole family. (Check on availability due to Covid restrictions)

Day 2 – travel to Kadina to visit the Farm Shed Museum. Explore this area.

Day 3 – travel to Wallaroo- visit the National Heritage sites of Wallaroo. Have lunch at the Tavern where they have a range of meals to cater for all the family.

Spend some time fishing from the jetty, or take a fishing charter.

There are a range of activities that can entertain the whole family for a number of days! Just plan what you want to do

The Moonta Heritage Trail

The Moonta Heritage Trail starts at the Town Hall and is a leisurely drive of about 16 kms. Simply follow the distinctive Trail Signs, Tour Drive No 38. Note that most of the buildings featured are privately owned. Please respect the privacy of the owners.

Splashtown is a water slide facility provided by the Copper Coast Council. Located at Moonta Bay it is fun for the whole family!  Currently closed due to Covid restrictions- check the Copper Coast website for more details

A visit to Kadina can include miniature trains, mini golf as well as a visit to the farm shed.Currently there is also an indoor play cafe for wet weather.
